President Farve

January 20, 2008

Yaum al-Ahad 12th Muharram 1429

Bismillah ar Rahmaan ar Raheem,

As salaam alaikum wa rahmaatuulahhi wa baraakaatuu,

Last night I turned on the news to check who won in the two republican primaries and in Nevada for the Dems. I had to sit through about 10 minutes of Packer stories and the weather… If the Packers win today I will not hear of anything, Al humduulilah for Internet access.

Obama actually won last night. He came out with one more delegate then Hillary. I am not sure how that happened since Hillary won the popular vote, but who said that this country is truly democratic? Obama has a two delegate lead over Hillary and Iceberg is why back in the third. South Carolina is up next, if Obama can win SC then he will have momentum, if he doesn’t then Hillary pulled a comeback, but she won’t be the next president.

Romney has built a 21 delegate lead over Huckabee who has fizzled out. Maybe Huckabee will join Chuck Norris on some of is info-mericals because he took a big blow last night (bigger then Romney’s loss in IA). McCain is behind Huckabee, and Rudy finally surfaced with one Delegate. I mention Rudy because he may come up big in the Repubs next stop, Florida, and he can easily be in second place, and I don’t think Romney is going to be able to hold on.

Finally Ron Paul has done well, almost Perot like. He may come out as a 3rd party candidate. Also, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Bloomberg enter the race cause it is up for grabs, just ask Obama. It may come down to Feb 5th or even the conventions were delegates may actually switch sides and that is not something that we have seen in modern politics.

The Campaign Tightens Up

January 16, 2008

Yaum al-Arbiaaa 7th Muharram 1429

Bismillah ar Rahmaan ar Raheem,

As salaam alaikum wa rahmaatuulahhi wa baraakaatuu,

Romney did what he needed to last tight and closed the gap between him and Huckabee. Huckabee and Obama each hold a one delegte lead over Romney and Hillary respectively. It will be interesting to see what happens in NV and SC, and if McCain and Edwards can get into the race.

Ron Paul has done well but has not picked up any delegates, I see him as a 3rd party candidate but I am not sure who he will take votes from.
