The Super Bowl

January 12, 2008

Yaum as-Sabt 3rd Muharram 1429

Bismillah ar Rahmaan ar Raheem,

As salaam alaikum wa rahmaatuulahhi wa baraakaatuu,

All right guys, this is it! My last post on the NFL for the next 6 months. Looking back I could have almost made a sub blog, it is sad that a majority of my posts are on something as insignificant as football.

I am going to work my way backwards. The Patriots over the Packers in the SuperBowl, The Patriots over The Colts AFC Championship, The Packers over The Giants NFC Championship, and you can figure out the rest of my picks from there.

As you may have noticed I am going with the Packers over the Giants now, because, I have thought and they really got it easy when Washington lost. I wasn’t expecting the Seahawks to still be in this, and it just seems ironic to have Holmgren and Hasselback back. The Seahawks are kind of like the Packers West. The last time we played the Seahawks won, and it was in snow, and the Packers haven’t really shown me that they can win the BIG one agian, but I am not sure if this is a big game since the Seahawks have been running on empty the whole season. I will be a fun game, and I plan to watch from beginning to end.

Anything can happen, and it is the will of Allah’tala, the only thing that will Surprise me is if the Patriots don’t win at the end.

We came along way from the Saints and Patriots.

Life on the Frozen Tundra

December 30, 2007

yaum al-ahad 21st Dhu al-Hijjah 1428

Bismillah ar Rahmaan ar Raheem,

As salaam alaikum wa rahmaatuulahhi wa baraakaatuu,

Last week I was able to watch the first half of the Packers game and I was very surprised. They were playing in their kind of weather against their biggest rival and looked completely flat, outplayed, out coached. Not good. Reminded me of the final game last year, when we beat the Bears, the Bears stumbled around in the playoffs. Today will be a measure of what this Packers team is all about. Thanks to the emergence of Ryan Grant, and being blessed to play some teams at the right time, this 9-7 team maybe 13-3 with a first round bye. They are good enough to be in the playoffs, they may even be the best in the NFC (I have the Giants), but they will hit a brick wall at the end.

The brick wall is probably the best team I have ever seen, this years Patriots, I thought that they would win it all, but I didn’t think they would them all. They have a huge target on their back, but only the Colts will stop them to the Super Bowl, and the NFC doesn’t have anything on them in the big game. So at the beginning of the playoffs I see the Patriots over the Giants in a rematch of last night. I don’t see Dallas doing too much, cause they are going to implode, thanks T.O., you need to take lessons from Randy Moss, but you most likely figured you weren’t going to win it all this year anyway.

Interesting enough, I didn’t watch the game last night forgot that it was on. I can just see myself in India in a few years forgetting about the whole season, or maybe here after Farve retires.
