Thanks for Nothing…

Yaum al-Jumua 14th Rabi al-Awwal 1429

Bismillah ar Rahmaan ar Raheem,

As salaam alaikum wa rahmaatuulahhi wa baraakaatuu,

I supported the war in the Iraq. Scratch that, I supported the removal of Sadaam. It sickens me that some actually look at Sadaam as hero, but that is another post. I don’t know where my head was at during the invasion of Afghanistan, and I was too young to really understand the brutality of the West’s form of war during Gulf War 1.

When I started seeing the shock and awe of US war policy and the mistreatment of Iraqi POWs I knew I would never be able to support the US in any war while they employ these tactics.

I don’t know how some one can think that the invasion of Iraq was a good thing. What have we gained with the loss of life on both sides? What have we gained with the decline of the quality of life in Iraq and the fact that the quality of life may have been better under Sadaam. The financial cost now and in the future to the citizens in the US is nothing compared to what the citizens of Iraq have paid. Both sides have paid too much for nothing.

May Allah forgive us and bring justice to the world.. Ameen!

Cruel Intentions

Yaum al-Jumua 2nd Muharram 1429

Bismillah ar Rahmaan ar Raheem,

As salaam alaikum wa rahmaatuulahhi wa baraakaatuu,

Today I wanted to focus on the latest Bush foreign policy moves.

First the Israel – Palestinian Peace process is a joke without brining Hamas to the table. This will do nothing more then further the divide amongst the people of Palestine, and it doesn’t get to the real problem. The real problem is that the violence is caused because the Palestinian people don’t feel a sense of Justice, and the Israelis don’t feel secure. The root of the problem is that both sides think that the other side stole the land. Israelis claim to the land is found in the Bible or Torah and they try to dig for artifacts to prove their physical connection to the land. Meanwhile the Palestinians have a more recent claim cause they actually lived there and were force off. What needs to be settled out is who land is it? Until both sides can come to an agreement (compromise) you will not have peace. Just another in a long line of Bush Administration blunders…

Second, the stupidest chapter in Bush Administration and Iran relations. Is this a joke? They couldn’t get them on the nuclear weapons charges so they have some guy sounding like Arnold driving a boat… Iran should have just told the U.S. in an incident like that torpedo the boat, but then the U.S. will torpedo a whole fleet. To me at the very most it was a bad joke by Iranian Sailors, but even that is hard for me to believe, and I think it was over exaggerated.

Finally, sorry McCain, but the surge is at a critical point and the violence in Iraq has escalated in the last few days. Check out Juan Cole’s blog for more details.
